The Summer Uniform

The Summer Uniform by Thread & Crescent

“The charm is in the ease of wear and versatility. Worn with simple sandals and a belt you have a comfortable but pulled together outfit for running errands or a day trip. At the end of the day swap your flats for heeled sandals and jewelry and you’re ready for an evening out. Perfect for a weekend trip”

Available for pre-order at Little Paper Planes

The Complexity of Simplicity

A few "simple" things I'd love for my birthday.. I MEAN that would really help usher in Fall! ..yeah.

Heath Deep Serving Bowls in Linen to add to the collection.. perfect for Pho

Pendleton Wool Motor Robe in Olive Beach Boy Plaid ..for my bed

Vintage Technics Direct-Drive Automatic Turntable

Chanel #3135 Frames in Havana

Yokoo's Pembroke Cowl in Oatmeal

I'm envisioning many nights wrapped in aforementioned blanket, eating spicy Pho out of aforementioned bowl while listening to records on aforementioned player ..with Ralex... you're welcome to come over and get in on this action!

The Kids Are Alright

I still miss working in the children's fashion/footwear industry and seeing great spreads like these from Small Magazine Autumn 09 issue only makes me miss it more! Every few months I receive my quarterly, online issue courtesy of my buddy Stevey and his wife Christine. They have been publishing Small since 2007 and manage to feature the freshest, most stylish children's lifestyle products in the industry... including craft and recipe ideas, fine art and even music!

Aside from running Small and managing professional careers as a photographer and a stylist, they have their own children's clothing line and this Summer opened their first brick and mortar.. and did I mention they have two little girls?! These guys are amazing!

L'Age d'Or by Eric Saeter
I love this type of exploration with metal especially when it becomes wearable... the re-use of both precious and common metal objects, like keys, and experimenting with oxidation... yummmm

It's Bliss!

Thank you Jen @ Buzzhype for reminding me how much I love Bliss Lau. A few years ago we were represented by the same showroom. She was just starting out, offering handbags only.. one of which I own and love. Her label has grown and evolved so nicely and I think she has a very original and interesting perspective on fashion. She chooses to explore a particular part of the body with each collection... belts came after bags and she has now taken her exploration further through jewelry... you see where this is going. Read more about her and see more of her work HERE

Shopping in Buenos Aires: Las Pepas

Las Pepas! One of many impressive clothing/accessories lines we discovered in Buenos Aires. Las Pepas is a cool combination of Betsey Johnson and Vivienne Westwood but in distinctly exciting prints and laid back cuts. We were able to visit two of the BA locations, Av. Sante Fe and in Palermo Soho, both stand out shops with dark, floral fabric walls, racks upon racks of bright colored leather jackets and the added bonus of Animal Collective coming through the speakers. We were there in May, Fall for them, so we were able to get a glimpse of some trends that are headed our way.

Overall, we were so impressed with the scene there. We saw so many good looks... lots of knee high Docs, layers of mismatched floral prints and several sightings of American Metal band t-shirts. Lots more to come on Buenos Aires...
